Astra Women’s Business Alliance, founded as Astra Society International, is an organization formed to provide personal, professional and income development skills for women business owners in the states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Nevada and Northern California.

Astra’s mission is relentless pursuit of leadership, opportunity and diversity for women in business. As a third-party certifier of women-owned businesses under Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) standards, Astra works to create contracts between diverse women business owners and corporate or government agencies. Women are starting businesses at a rapid rate, more than twice the times of male-owned companies, however women are only receiving for 2%-3% of government contracts.

Astra works to create a successful environment for women by increasing access to resources, providing skills training, building partnerships and fostering an atmosphere of encouragement, cooperation and achievement.

Astra offers support to women who want to create change in paradigms that fail to support the advancement of women in business.   Astra embraces change and aims to prepare women for global business expansion and financial efficacy for their families.
